For over 30 years I have been playing, what I believe is, quality music that is packed with soul, energy, diversity, melody, and a funky groove.
I have an eclectic taste, which is always evolving, but one thing remains, a passion for making people feel great with a customised music selection.
Starting in 1991 I was drawn into the UK rave culture and became an immediate lover of the energy of it's futuristic music.
Happy hardcore and drum and bass is where it began but I never really loved jungle so moved to uplifting house, trance and hard house in my early 20s. This style had the power and uplifting melodies that I always have loved.
After a few early gigs in London playing at Sunny Side Up and Ghost, my friend DJ Basil and I established a local monthly party called Ballistic which allowed us to play loud music to our friends until dawn. The night ran for 6 years and was always fun. I was lucky enough to also play regularly in my home town of Folkestone at The Music Factory, Capel Court, Lydd Watersports and La Parisienne.
I moved to Australia in 2002 with the intention of staying for 12 months...and stayed 10 years!
I played trance for a couple of years but then got bored of that sound and was left wondering what would fill the gap. After spinning drum and bass vinyl in my garage to keep me engaged, I ended up playing house music with my friends and started developing a taste for the different genres including progressive, electro, jackin and then eventually tech and deep house.
Sydney's clubbing scene created the opportunity for me to become the resident for the unique Shipwrecked and Gorgeous events, Bondi's The Bucket List plus bookings for the legendary High Flyers and Monkey Tennis parties.
I moved to Bali in 2011 where I ended up being a resident DJ for the world class Karma Beach, at Karma Kandara, through to Sept 2012, playing over 100 times on their incredible beach along with 50 other parties for other venues.
Returning to Sydney in 2014 I was the Saturday night resident DJ at Bondi Radio based in the funky Neighbourhood bar in Bondi Beach. I have also been lucky enough to play lots of unique house, rooftop, villa, clifftop, park and boat parties. I love it and am grateful for every chance to play.
Continuing my travels in 2015 created opportunities to play a few times at Goa's best house music event Leopard Valley, and some sets in London, followed by a dozen gigs for Sublime in Guatemala's beautiful Lake Atitlan and a cheeky set in southern Mexico. But every New Years Eve I am blessed to be able to return to Sydney to play major events on the harbour for the biggest fireworks event possible, and this year will be my 8th year in a row. I was travelling in Sri Lanka with big plans for 2020 but like everybody else had to hit pause...but not on the music :) I have had so much time since lockdown began in April and have just finished my 170th mix since then! I love it as much as I ever have,, the music is so good, I just cant stop :) So expect new mixes every month covering all of the styles I love.
SoundCloud is a dream as it allows me to share some of the brilliant music being produced around the world by people we will often never know, and who will probably never be rich from it, but through their imagination and technical abilities, create hugely positive energy on dancefloors and in peoples bodies, in countless numbers.
