Award-Winning Dining in Scilly

Karma St. Martin’s celebrated restaurant  Sir Cloudesley Shovell has just been awarded the prestigious Restaurant Guru Certificate of Excellence.  This is in addition to the double Rosette Awards for culinary excellence from the AA,  the very first scheme for assessing food establishments across the British Isles. But then,  Sir Cloudeslely Shovell is unique when it comes to the Isles of Scilly.

Take a seat in the plush and spacious dining room and you’ll quickly find yourself absorbed by an atmosphere of calm. A  wide, sandy beach lapped by turquoise waters is visible right outside the window,  local artworks hang on the walls and friendly and attentive staff are on hand to look after you. And then of course there is the food.

The culinary team has created a menu that is big on local and seasonal ingredients – and of course seafood, from shrimp to lobsters to catch of the day. The style is French contemporary – exquisitely prepared dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the taste buds – that are very much guided by what is in season, whether that be nettles or leaks, new potatoes or spring lamb.

Karma St. Martin’s and Sir Cloudesley Shovell Restaurant reopens in just a few months for the Spring season – and you can be sure there’ll be world-class offerings on the menu once again!

  1. We loved staying at Karma St Martins. Such a beautiful place to stay. We had many great meals there and enjoy Bastille day a beautiful meal matched with amazing wines. Met some lovely new friends who work for Karma. We have met up again in other Karma locations. A long way from home here in Perth Western Australia, would definitely stay at St Martins again.
