Discover Vietnam’s Cultural Heartland

You asked and we listened. Karma Cay Tre is back by popular demand and will be opening its doors to Members once again in January ‘24! Our Vietnam resort is set on the banks of the purling Do River just outside the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An.

Hoi An’s Old Town is one of the best preserved examples of a trading port in the region. Its culture and heritage derives from the ancient Cham kingdom, which once controlled the lucrative spice trade from far eastern Indonesia. But atop this are myriad other influences – notably Chinese – and the Old Town is filled with Chinese shop fronts and temples as well as Japanese and European-influenced buildings.

It’s a truly immersive experience, as you lose yourself in its narrow cobbled streets, explore shops selling curios, contemporary artworks, fashion books and more, visit stunning temples and sample Vietnam’s famously delicious cuisine – including regional favourites like hearty Cao Lau – a delicious dish of noodles, rice, green beans, meat, bean sprouts and herbs that’s hard to resist!

The entire resort has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment ahead of its reopening. Karma Cay Tre brings together a stunning collection of opulent villa suites spread across manicured lawns and vibrant tropical flora. Here simplicity and understated elegance combine to create a soothing ambience, where comfort is paramount. Each of the 22 air-conditioned rooms boasts a private balcony, which gazes out over the river and the gardens.

The spacious rooms emphasise understated elegance, with an insistence on quality and taste when it comes to décor and furnishings. Choose between queen and twin beds, with deliciously soft duvets and high thread count sheets, while en suite bathrooms boast large tubs and showers.

There’s a semi alfresco courtyard restaurant, which serves delicious renditions of classic Vietnamese dishes as well as international fare. Swim some lengths in the large riverside pool, enjoy specially prepared barbecues and discover the secrets of the local cuisines with farm tours and cooking classes.

Karma Cay Tre is your gateway to one of Southeast Asia’s most exciting and beloved destinations – so of course we had to bring it back!
