Meet the travel dream team

As we start to re-open our Karma Rottnest resort in Western Australia, we thought this would be a good time to introduce you to an amazing team – Hanna Thomas and Boyan Ortse.  They travel the world full time exploring the world’s amazing destinations – including Rottnest Island!

Hanna Thomas was previously a paediatric nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. After meeting the equally travel-mad Boyan Ortse (drone videographer and photographer), Hanna quit her job to pursue her travel dreams and is now a full-time digital nomad, travel blogger and social media expert – and social media consultant for the Karma Group.

Hanna and Boyan have now travelled to over 21 countries over the past year. Just some of their favourite destinations they have visited together include the Faroe Islands, Philippines, Indonesia – and Rottnest island. Hanna usually follows the sun hence her Instagram name @solarpoweredblonde, but Boyan has managed the impossible and convinced her that cold places can also be amazing!

Boyan started his videography company EpicPixel over 5 years ago. He creates videos to showcase Karma properties as well as the incredible destinations and things to do in these locations. He started working with Karma alongside global brand curator Clinton Albuquerque to film a variety of European properties including Italy, France and the Greek island of Mykonos.

Hanna and Boyan recently spent a few months living in Bali and even hopped on the four hour flight from Bali to Perth to experience all that Western Australia has to offer. Together with their cameras, drones and video camera they created some beautiful content that will make you want to visit the little quokkas on Rottnest Island right away. Their Western Australia road trip from Perth to Esperance was truly epic; van life is the way to go in WA!

Boyan is not only a videographer but also an award-winning aerial photographer. His work has been featured worldwide, for example on the front cover of the KLM inflight magazine! You can find more of his drone photos on @boyanoo on his Instagram page.
