Meet the Tigers of Uttarakhand

Did you know that the tiger is one of the few endangered species to be staging a recovery? Last year it was reported that the number of tigers in the wild was 40% higher than expected with a population of between 3,726 and 5,578 tigers across the key habitats of India, Nepal, and Bhutan as well as Russia and China. Around 70% of these tigers can be found in India – making it the best place in the world to get up close and personal with these felines – the biggest of the big cats. And what better way to do so than with a Karma curated tiger safari from our Karma Sitabani property in Uttarakhand, set on the edge of India’s oldest tiger reserve and with a stellar five star rating on TripAdvisor…

Your tiger safari takes you into many of the hidden and unexplored areas of the forest, where you’ve got an excellent of not only seeing tigers, but witnessing a variety of behaviours. You’ll set off early in the morning with your safari driver and an experienced naturalist guide, who will really bring the complex ecosystem to life with his in-depth knowledge of the flora and fauna that thrives here.
