Tea Trails, Spice Gardens & Kerala Culture…

Last week, a lucky cohort of Members set out on a magical journey through the vibrant landscapes of rural Kerala on a 3 day micro-adventure centred on one of our newest resorts, Karma Munnar – a true gem in Kerala’s stunning highlands.

The adventure kicked off with the Kolukkumalai Trek, an early morning escapade that transported our Members to the rarefied air and panoramic vistas of one of the world’s highest tea plantations – at 7,130 feet. Navigating 11 hairpin bends in a jeep, the trek offered awe-inspiring views on what proved an adrenaline-pumping ascent for the group. After conquering the heights of Kolukkumalai, guests enjoyed a well-deserved brunch back at Karma Munnar.

Day two centred on the mesmerising world of Kerala’s performing arts – after a relaxed day, the group set out to witness the captivating Kathakali performance – a blend of theatre and dance that narrates timeless tales of good versus evil, followed by an evening demonstration of Kalaripayattu, one of the world’s oldest martial arts. After all this intensity, guests were treated to a rejuvenating Ayurvedic spa therapy.

On the final day, we set out to explore ancient spice gardens, heady with the scent of spices that have been traded for centuries. We enjoyed a leisurely trek through the aromatic plantations, an elephant safari as well as tasting the rich spices.

As we bid adieu to another memorable Karma Curated Experience, stay tuned for upcoming adventures through 2024, as we’ll be ramping up our offerings this year!
