We’ve Missed You : UK arts, theatres and museums are back!

England’s inside hospitality and entertainment sector is reopening and the economy is booming! Theatres ticket sales are soaring and morale is up!

Is this the start of a ‘post-pandemic’ roaring twenties type era?

We hope so!

After the year we’ve all had, it’s time to support the arts and entertainment. If you appreciate museums, theatres and shows, here are some of the (social distancing in place) happenings that we are feeling excited about… It’s been nearly a year since London’s theatre scene closed down and while many shows were able to go online during the pandemic, there’s nothing like the real thing.

You can now book tickets to the musical, Hairspray at the London Coliseum, and the newly imagined Cinderella at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

The Design Museum has opened with the highly-anticipated Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street – a cool exhibition dedicated to trainers! Experience the design process behind some of the most inventive shoes of today with the Adidas FutureCraft Strung shoe-making robot.  Uncover the icons and collaborations that have shaped the sneaker scene over the years from Michael Jordan and Run-DMC to Kanye West. Seriously, the kids will love this one! The Science Museum has also reopened, and for something quirky, you can book a yoga session at the Natural Museum.

Come June and make sure you get to experience the spectacular Van Gogh Alive hosted at Kensington Gardens. This event is celebrated as the world’s best immersive and multi-sensory exhibition that showcases the life and work of the Dutch artist. Another magical experience for the whole family. Don’t miss it.

These are just a few of the upcoming artistic events to explore. Make sure you also check the off-Broadway shows. We’re all in this together!

  1. I do so hope Andrew Lloyd Webber will get huge support for this intriguing version of Cinderella. He absolutely deserves it for all he`s done during lockdown and this new show sounds amazing.
