After Monoj suggestion, I took a long over due vacation at Karma Salford Hall from 6th March to 17th March 2022.. The resort is fabulous. An old Abby of 1162. The exterior has been left as it is with few reinforcement which cannot be noticed by casual visitors but the interiors has been excellently improved for modern comfort at the sometime encouriging the ethnic vibrancy of yesteryears. The resort is about 3 hours journey to Piccadilly London railway station.
To enjoy the rural beauty with castles, garden, rivers, ancient Roman village, Shakespeare's Birth place 'Stratford-upon-Avon, England' with 'The Garrick Inn" a pub in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, located at 25 High Street, next door to Harvard House. It is reputedly the oldest pub in the town since 1569 and golf courses you must have a vehicle. (Make sure when you park your car infant of the Pub you pay for 3 hours. I didn't follow the rule and not knowing the law is not an excuse. I had to pay a fine of #25. You must Rent a car. Taxis are difficult to find sometimes but if you book it a day ahead you will get a cab. However in UK & EU & US cab fares are very high in comparison to South East destination.
- 1. The full English breakfast is excellent.
- 2. Afternoon & tea are delightful. Lunch you must try at the glass roof cosy quadrangle.
- 3. The staff at the restaurant and bars are out of the ordinary; especially F&B Asst. Manager Javier. He is not only good at what they are cooking but jack all the trades. He will give you absolutely FREE travel guide of the UK. He even gave me his train Card when I went to visit London Museum. (I returned the Card to Ms. Élan while checking out). Sad I could not say thank you to Javier myself. (Someone please do it for me). Very efficient and friendly.
- 4. On the day of my departure I was unable to get a cab. As I was discussing my predicament with the receptionist Ellen; Suzan overheard and she immediately informed me that she had booked a taxi and she offered to drop me at the Salford Railway station. She was a heaven sent for my train was at 8.50 AM. I have promised her I will look for her if she ever visits India. (Karma please tell her the offer stands).
There was another lady (whose name I missed out), when she was informed at the reception that I don't have an Iron; she brought the iron and the heavy board to my room at 8.30 PM!!! (it was not her duty, I believe it should have housekeeping). The amazing quality of service. The staff were excellent. The con was my room Phone was not working (and remain so till the day I left) However for my convenience, the receptionist gave me the key opposite my room. Uniqueness in time of helplessness. Just Wow! I would strongly recommend couples or families to experience what Salford Hall has to offer and experience out of the ordinary. Worth every penny spent once in a lifetime. Life is too short and time waits for none and time cannot be purchased by silver or Gold. Take a trip to Salford Hall. UK countryside is truly a place to enjoy. I had a fantastic holiday.
