It's Been a Fantastic Holiday in Karma Resorts

We've just spent a week at Karma Kandara in a fabulous 1 bedroom Mentari Residences, then 10 days in a one bedroom pool villa at Karma Jimbaran. We couldn't resist the May hot deals so managed to reschedule flights to extend our stay. We're now loving being in Karma Royal Candidasa for 4 nights and are heading on to Karma Royal Sanur for the last three nights.

It's been a fantastic holiday, meeting so many new friends in the different resorts, learning about how to get the most out of each location and our membership. I'll talk of Karma Kandara in this first post.

We found Karma Kandara a stunning resort with its infinity pool, beautifully manicured gardens and lovely staff all eager to help. Of course there are a number of golf buggies with such personable engaging staff you only need request to take you wherever you need to go around the resort, but for us, we would have liked to have the freedom to come and go more as we pleased had I been able to walk better.

There is a shuttle bus that goes back and forth from the car park just above the restaurant, about every 10 minutes. It takes about 5 mins to drive down to the beach car park and if the tide is out, you can walk down some steps and along the beach to the Karma Beach area. Otherwise you need to take the steps just off to the right that wind around the cliffside up and down to Le Club 22 and the start of the Karma Group premises. The beach has lovely chaises longues and umbrellas.

We enjoyed the Paella and Sangria night Karma Kandara held with dancers and music, watching the Chef's make huge pans of steaming seafood and chicken/chorizo paellas. We find by joining in on some of these gatherings plus the Meet and Greet get together, we really enjoy meeting other guests and invariably make new friends.

Several nights we used my gojek mobile app to purchase take away food. I simply choose the food options on the gojek app, whatever food appeals (like saté chicken skewers or nasi goreng), key in our location as Karma Kandara and you can even pick the time you wish delivery (e.g. 6-6.30). You can order from multiple restaurants or warungs. We chose 23 sate chicken skewers (very small ones) and 2 nasi goreng with delivery for less than AU$10 (the restaurants were in Ungasan). There was so much food we reheated the half we had left in the apartment microwave the next night. We also offered a small Rp 20.000 tip ($2) for each delivery guy which made them really happy. We chose not to go out very much but did hire a driver to take us out for the day. We used a couple of drivers during our time here and found them reliable, with a good grasp of English and fairly priced. Happy to share if you message me. There's a shuttle bus at 10am every morning to Karma Jimbaran and we used this as our transport to transfer across at the end of our stay.
