Billy and I joined the Karma group in 2016 whilst on holiday in Bali and honestly, this has been one of the best decisions we have both made. We both work in a very fast paced industry, in physically demanding jobs with very little downtime. By becoming members we now have the opportunity to reward ourselves with well-deserved holidays and ensure that we really take the time to relax and recharge.
Our most recent trip has been our most special and memorable holiday to date and I really feel the need to share our experience with you all. Our first 3 days in Bali were spent in Ubud staying at Karma Mayura. Here we enjoyed a few action-packed days which included adventures like white water rafting and an ATV trek.
After getting our adrenaline hit it was time to head south to unwind at the majestic Karma Kandara. All I can say is WOW!!
At the reception, we were greeted by the lovely Jennifer, who checked us in, explained the property layout and all features of the resort, and finally arranged for our luggage to be taken to our villa while we were whisked by buggy to the beach for lunch and then to explore beautiful Karma Beach.
After a beautiful afternoon at the beach it was time we checked out our new home for the next week, and to say we were impressed is an understatement. First impressions of our villa were how well maintained the outdoor courtyard is and then how nicely presented inside is. The perfect combination of luxury and comfort!
Immediately I wanted to jump into our own private pool, however, Billy had other plans and with the help of Ms. Ari (our personal concierge) and the spa team, had arranged a spa and dine package that afternoon.
First up, while overlooking the ocean we received a relaxing couple’s massage and we were truly in a place of Zen. We were led into the private clifftop courtyard, where we continued our pampering by enjoying a warm Jacuzzi and watching the sunset. Next was dinner by candlelight where we were served an array of delicacies, sweet treats and Karma’s own signature champagne.
Our night became even more exceptional as Billy and I became engaged. Our remaining days were filled with warm wishes of congratulations from all the staff we encountered, a simple gesture which truly made us feel special.
The weather was sensational during our stay and we spent many hours at the beach, both relaxing by the water on sun beds and snorkeling the reef which is abundant with spectacular sea life. We were never short for ideas on what to do and we especially enjoyed receiving the nightly newsletter, which informed us of all the upcoming activities and promotions. We also witnessed a wedding in the main pool area, which gave us inspiration for our own special day!
Ms. Ari is very friendly and knowledgeable, she assisted us many times by giving us great advice anytime we needed to venture outside the resort.
Unfortunately for us, our week in paradise had come to an end and it was time to say goodbye and head home. We were again assisted by Jennifer and the whole process of checking out was quick and completely pain-free. We couldn’t speak more highly of the service we received, the efficiency and friendliness of all the staff.
Now, even after weeks of being back at home and work, we still remain impressed by Karma and have already decided that we will return to Karma Kandara for future celebrations.
