Hi Karma Team,
I’m Stacy Gabriella. I’m writing my holiday experience in Karma Cay Tre, Hoi An, Vietnam to join Karma group’s lucky draw.
My family started becoming Karma group members in April 2017. Moment after that, they got vouchers (7 nights accommodations, cooking class, restaurant, and excursion) in Karma Cay Tre, Hoi An, Vietnam. The vouchers are valid for 2 years (in my case, it will expire April 2019). Since it’s almost time for the vouchers for being wasted, I decided to give them a try. To be honest, I never thought of going to Hoi An to spend my holiday.
I stayed with my mom at Karma Cay Tre from February 17th until February 24th. People often says “When one’s expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates everything one does have”. That’s exactly what happened to our vacation! This resort really spoils their members.
Soon as we arrived on Sunday, they gave us complimentary drinks at the bar from 5-6 PM. The bar has daily happy hours from 4-6 PM (when you can have 50% off your drinks). As members, we also got 25% off on food and beverages.

The guests are encouraged to mingle through several events hosted by the resort. The manager himself (Steve) and other Karma team members (Paul & Chris) attend these events and blend in with the guests. On Monday, there was a meet & mingle event by the pool with other guests. We were given complimentary local beers & BBQ bites. On Wednesdays from 6:30 PM, the restaurant hosts a Thai/Vietnamese BBQ. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays the resort offers free bicycle tours with the manager from 10-11 AM. We cycled through a market and paddy fields. Steve gave us a bit of city tour while cycling.
It took us 30 minutes of walk from the resort to the Ancient Town. The city of Hoi An is famous for its culture and heritage. It’s one of the UNESCO’s cultural site. Hoi An Ancient Town is a right destination to experience the Vietnamese culture and lifestyle.
We experienced Vietnamese culture through a free cooking class organized by Eco Coconut Tour. Thanks to the voucher, we didn’t have to pay. The tour started from the wet market in Ancient Town, continued with a boat ride in Tu Bonh River, and finally the cooking class itself. We made 4 Vietnamese dishes and it tasted great.
Hoi An is also famously known for its skillful tailors. My mom and I made a customized winter coats and dresses. The whole process only took 2 days!
The resort itself is not too big nor too small. I stayed in a studio and it’s located next to the swimming pool and close to the restaurant and reception. I could say that my room has the most strategic location among other rooms. I enjoyed swimming and chilling by the pool.
In conclusion, my mom and I are satisfied with our stay in Karma Cay Tre. We are looking forward to another vacation in Karma group resorts.
Cheers,
Stacy Gabriella and Henny Nangoi
