Karma Chakra is superb

Cute resort with fantastic view of Vembanad lake

Went with family for a week. It's a lovely resort. Very courteous and polite staff. Always greet with a smile, always making sure you're enjoying what you've asked for - whether it is food or service.

Rooms on the first floor generally have a better view of the serene lake. The adjoining marshland (between Karma Chakra and Backwater Ripples) sees a variety of birds. Unfortunately, it is also very filthy and not well-kept. There are plastic and glass bottles thrown all over. I feel the resorts should take collective responsibility to maintain the beauty of this place.

The food at the restaurant "Waterside" is e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t! Very good preparation, service with a smile by Aju, our captain. Always accommodating our last-minute requests :)

Pool is very well maintained - it is clean and the water is actually quite warm due to the heat. We spent close to 4 hours in the pool almost each day since my kid refused to get out!

We also took the village tour - which was fantastic. Our guide Mr. Saboo took us by row-canoe to the village where we did weaving, rope making, toddy tapping and coconut tree climbing. Ended that with fresh coconut water with coconuts broken from the tree in front of us.

The houseboat cruise was also superb! 5 hours of quiet and peace. Delicious kari-meen and local kerala meal served on the houseboat itself.

our stay was awesome and we enjoyed to the fullest. Would definitely recommend Karma Chakra to our friends as a place to enjoy the serenity of Kumarakom.
