Hello, I have waited far too long to finally write and tell you about Karma Bavaria (Germany), my goodness where to start; other than telling you how much we LOVE Karma Bavaria!!!
My husband and I and our 3 year old son are from Perth Western Australia and we travelled to Europe in September/October last year. We did a great many things in a small amount of time which included a lot of travel, all of which became a bit tiring (you know what travel can be like – many airports, many time zones, many languages, many hotels – LOTS of walking).
We were getting to the latter part of our Europe travels and we were very much considering on cancelling our booked Karma Bavaria leg and going straight through to Bali for a rest before heading home.
So here we are sitting in a café’ in Disneyland Paris when my husband and I could not for the life of us decide on whether to continue as planned or cancel as mentioned. So we let our 3 year old son decide on whether or not we go to Bali or through to Schliersee (it was his birthday so of course we let him decide – as you do).
Let me say, without a doubt we are so thankful we let our son decide because he was adamant about going to Schliersee for his birthday. So we continued with our plans and the moment we landed at Munich airport, everything was fantastic. Germany is such a lovely place and everyone we met from beginning to end were just wonderful.
On arrival to the hotel, we were greeted with such warmth, professionalism and organisation. We had a room in the hotel and it was just great. It was large enough that you could actually breathe and spread out.
The view from our room and balcony was just glorious green pasture with cows casually grazing throughout the day – which included the added bonus of their bells gently knocking which was just like mesmerising wind chimes to me. Not to mention the snow peaked mountains surrounding the area.
Although the weather was cold (by West Aussie standards) everything was still so beautiful. Schliersee town itself is very easy to get around with fantastic walkways everywhere you go (especially around the lake). The local supermarket had a very comfy (and warm) cafe' outdoor seating area (Ok it was for the smokers) but the view from there was just amazing whilst having a coffee and pretzle.
Oh, I could rattle on for ages about Schliersee but honestly I cannot recommend it more, we missed it once we left and very much look forward to getting back there sometime, it is such a great place.
