This was our first experience with membership in the Odyssey Group using our complementary voucher to go to the Royal Bella Vista Country Club, in Chiang Mai. We were pleasantly surprised, the service received from our Navigator Adi Budi and the staff at the Resort was excellent. A two bedroom apartment was booked for which we paid extra as friends were going with us, unfortunately due to a sickness they couldn’t go but we kept the two bedroom apartment. We had no idea what to expect. We were given a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage with all the necessities to do our own cooking etc., about 200meters to the pool, restaurant and office and club rooms. We were very happy with our accommodation.
The service from the very beginning was excellent, everything was booked; we were met at the airport and transported to the resort, on the way our driver called into a convenience store for us to purchases a few groceries to keep us going until we knew what the resort offered. We were taken directly to our cottage (no booking in.) everything was ready for us, coffee, tea, milk and a big fridge. We settled in very nicely. During our 14 day stay we paced ourselves, having one day at the resort around the pool and relaxing, the next day we would go touring. All our tours were book though the resort office which may have cost a little more than booking direct but we were picked up from our cottage or the office and returned back, we couldn’t have asked for better service from the staff they were ready to help at all times.
All in All we were very pleased with our holiday. There are things about the resort you could nick pick about, perhaps in sections it is becoming a little bit tired but the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to be of service was first class. If we wanted to pick on something it would be that you had to pay cash rather than use your credit card for any dealings with the Odyssey group so you need plenty of cash money, although the restaurant took our cards.
