Wonderful Week at Karma Lake of Menteith

Karma Lake of Menteith

My husband, John, and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Karma Lake of Menteith in Scotland. We had an fabulous time and will certainly be returning to this beautiful resort.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Jean, on reception, who was a great source of information and fun throughout our stay. She showed us up to our deluxe room which certainly lived up to its title, and we were immediately struck by the fantastic view over the lake. It is so beautiful, we would spend a long time simply gazing out and watching the way it changed throughout each day.

Something that we really look forward to on holiday is the food, and we were not disappointed. Chef Jamie Crombie, together with Lesley, Chelsea and Callum made sure that every meal was a real treat using locally sourced food. One evening I even had trout that had been caught just a few hours earlier from the lake. You can't get anything fresher than that!

And the whole dining room fronts onto the Lake of Menteith so you are treated to one of the best views possible, whether it's watching "rush hour" with the fishermen going out in their boats in the morning, or simply gazing across the lake to the hills and mountains in the distance. The whole restaurant and bar crew - headed up by Angie - were so helpful and charming; we really felt as though we had become part of their family by the end of our week.

We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more: our room, the staff, the food were the best. Oh yes, and did I mention the view?!
