di Mare restaurant at Karma Kandara has been a fixture among the island’s shortlist of world class fine dining restaurants for well over a decade, continuing to win awards and industry accolades. That form continues with the latest recognition from leading Bali lifestyle publication Now! Bali which has singled out di Mare for delivering the most Adventurous Tasting Menu on the island. That’s down to celebrated Chef Joseph Antinoshek who has taken the restaurant’s long established Mediterranean meets pan-Pacific template and run with it, introducing a host of locally-inspired flavours to what have quickly become signature dishes – think Sumbawa Oysters with Sea Urchin Butter or rich and tangy Soy Cured Filet Mignon Carpaccio with a Truffle Soy Dressing and Coconut Clams, served appropriately in a ripe coconut shell. And of course the taste sensations take place in one of the most spectacular locations in southeast Asia, on a clifftop high above the Indian Ocean.
