Karma’s new partnership with England National Rugby Sevens

Karma’s existing members may not be surprised to learn that Karma Group Chairman, John Spence, has been a passionate fan of English rugby since his schooldays at Brighton College in the U.K. In adulthood, his connection to the sport has spurred a lasting relationship between it and the international luxury resort brand Spence founded.

Though the game itself sees some of the toughest competition of any sporting code, rugby is built upon the principles of integrity, fair play, respect, and teamwork. Passion for this noble sport is shared by more than 6.6 million players and even more fans across 120 countries.

Karma’s involvement with England National Rugby Sevens

As the start of rugby season approaches Karma is proud to announce our partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to sponsor the England National Rugby Sevens for 2017/18. The partnership – which includes the England team visiting Karma resorts – consists of all ten legs of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018, and the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco.

Commenting on the partnership, Spence said “We are tremendously excited to come on board as sponsors of England Sevens Rugby. Karma has long been a proud supporter of English rugby, developing great friendships with the many England players who have stayed at our resorts and hosting the England Men’s Sevens team training camp in Bali shortly before they went on the win the Hong Kong Sevens.”

Karma will play host to the Karma to the England Sevens in Bali, ahead of their participation in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia.

According to Simon Amor, head of the England National Rugby Sevens, the combination of the Brisbane games and World Cup in 2018 will offer players and fans alike an especially gripping season. Amor went on to say that Karma’s support arrives at a critical time for the squad.

“To stay at one of Karma’s world-class resorts will provide a huge benefit, aiding the squads’ recovery and preparation, as well as putting the team in the best place possible to achieve our goals. We often talk a lot in our programme about creating memories; no doubt working with Karma Resorts will create some fantastic memories this season.”
