Join us in Bali for a long weekend immersing in nature & the timeless rhythms of rural Bali – hosted by Regional General Manager, Shaun Dünhofen – from a pilgrimage to the spectacular summit of Gunung Batur volcano at daybreak to a visit to the nearby hot springs at the sacred Tirta Empul Temple for a unique cleansing ceremony. Feast on classic Balinese cuisine, experience the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park and a magical sunset picnic on one of Bali’s most beautiful beaches – all while staying at award-winning Karma Kandara.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – THURSDAY, 18 JULY 2024

Check-in to Karma Kandara.

DAY 2 – FRIDAY, 19 JULY 2024

It’s an early start on our first day as we depart Karma Kandara at 1.45am as we head to Gunung Batur where an experienced guide will lead us on the two hour trek to the volcano’s summit where we’ll enjoy breakfast at sunrise. After exploring the crater, we’ll head to a nearby hot spring for lunch, arriving back at Karma Kandara at 4pm.

DAY 3 – SATURDAY, 20 JULY 2024

After a leisurely breakfast at Karma Kandara, at 10am we head to the century-old sacred temple and gardens of Tirta Empul in Tampak Siring where the Balinese come for purification. After our cleansing ceremony, we head to nearby Ubud for a traditional Balinese lunch at Bebek Tepi Sawah restaurant. After lunch, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Tegalalang rice terraces, before heading back to Karma Kandara.

DAY 4 – SUNDAY, 21 JULY 2024

Enjoy a leisurely morning before joining the group for lunch at di Mare at Midday. At 2pm, we head out for a tour of nearly Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, before saddling up for an e-bike adventure to beautiful Balangan beach and a sunset picnic, returning to Karma Kandara at 7pm.
